The first weekend of June my wife and I took a trip with her family. We went to Heijen, which is a nice area located in the eastern part of The Netherlands. The place were we where staying was located close to a nice walking area called the "Bergerbos" which also contained a geocache. On Saturday the 5th of June we decided to walk from our holiday home to the geocache, do the geocache and then hike back. The geocache was about 7km, the hike towards the geocache location was around 5km. During the hike we where met by a herd of Highland cows, they looked quite dangerous but when we came closer they completely ignored us :-) We also saw a lot of goats. All together we hiked a good 17 kilometers during a very nice and sunny day.
Bellow you'll find a GPS track log of the hike:
I recently bought a new camera, the TZ-10 of Panasonic, which contains a GPS unit for recording the location were a picture is made. In Google Earth this looks quite nice, but if I embed the pictures inside the GPS track log shown above the map gets a bit cluttered, perhaps I find a nice solution for this in the (near) future. The camera itself is great, during the weekend in Heijen I got to take the first 'real' pictures and I am quite happy with the outcome. You'll see some pictures bellow:
