Jethro Borsje

Today Fenneke and I went to the release party of Markowski's new CD "Sleeping in Trees". Sonja Markowski is a singer / songwriter who makes beautiful "rootsy pop with a country flavor". Together with Jan van Bijnen (who plays all kinds of string instruments such: as electric guitar, pedal steel guitar, lap steel guitar, dobro, mandoline, banjo, etc.), Rogier Hemmes (on bass), and various guest musicians she played various songs from her new album. Each song tells a different story and grows on you a little bit more, every time you hear it. Some songs are very fragile while others are more cheerful and upbeat.
